Sorry it has taken me so long to update yall on my first few
days in Italy! My plane was on time and couldn’t have gone any smoother. The
dinner they served was fine- nothing special but at least I could eat some of
it. Very similar to a lean cuisine. They also served us a little breakfast
sandwich and a banana. I watched three movies haha and I tried to sleep a
little but was only able to really rest for about an hour. So lets just say I
was pretty exhausted when we got to Rome. When we arrived at our hotel I want
tempted to nap but from an earlier suggestion I decided to take a walk and do
some exploring. I guess not everyone is given the advice that I was- no one was
really up for much but I was fine to have some alone time. I walked a short
distance down to the famous Trevi fountain. It was fairly crowded. It was then
maybe 2:30 or 3- who really knows exactly. I am still getting used to this time
zone!! I decided to stop in a little café called “White” for some lunch. I
ordered a pizza, which was probably some of the best pizza I have ever eaten.
It had very thin, crispy crust. I then ordered some gelato- can I just say that
it was amazing. I had a caramel and a nutella flavor. My friend and roommate
Tori, who will be joining me in a week is going to die. She LOVES ice cream and
nutella. The group that I am with is very fun- we are still getting to know one
another but there are some people from New York, California and Florida among
others.
I was given a cell phone to use while I am here and if you’d
like the phone number please email me so I can give it to you! It is free for
me to receive calls and texts but it will charge you to text or call me. My
hotel has had wireless but I guess the saying “you get what you pay for” is
true in this situation haha it is very slow. I was hoping to get to Skype but I
think it is too slow.
Just wanted to let yall know that I made it and that I am
loving it! That is it for now- Ciao!
